If you live with horses you know. You feel their presence, you can feel meaning in simple interactions and it is as if they are truly understanding more of you than any human. That is because horses have helped us to cross bridges for centuries. Litterally and metaphoricly. They help us to navigate the realms of the day and the night, to heal and grow.

In a lot of western cultures, the day consciousness - things we can touch, hear and see with our physical senses - has become the main event. We have become not only obsessed with it, but we started to identify our self and our lifes with it. Causing problems, in finding meaning, understanding, and parts of ourself and the world we live in.

In a lot of other cultures the life in the day consciousnes is only part of life or even seen as an illusion. The meaningfull events, personal and spiritual growth occur in an other dimension. The dimensions of feeling, of metaphors, of impressions and inspiration, toughts. The one who experiences life is not an assembly of body parts, it is the consciousness and life itself.

The realms of the night consiousness. The space we can enter when we close our eyes. Can allow us to become more in touch with spirit and life.

Ofcourse you can walk your life in a way, that you connect with both. They belong to the same great mystery. When you are able to let go limiting beliefs and views, the animals will talk, the trees will share their wisdom and youncan experience the interconnectedness of life.

We also call it matter, or the woven universe. Earthly things. The sand, the air, the water, your body, the plants.

All matter contains information, history, and potential for the future.

All matter has its own movement, frequency, behavior, and stories. When you learn to listen, you learn not only more about the world, but also about yourself and all the beings you share this life with.

Just as all versions of you are stored in your energy and cellular memory, so too is other materiality. If you can become the bridge between the stories and information and the “everyday being,” you can translate the ancient wisdom and power.

When you learn how to embody these elements yourself, you can take this power with you and share it with others. That is the path and the work of the guides and medicine workers. They exist in every generation, to restore what needs to be restored, to tell what needs to be heard, to feel what needs to be felt, and above all, to support new stories in their development.

Voila here we are, in spirit, in the flesh, with our hearts. ❤️

The end of summer is here, it always calms my mind. Now we have to harvest we collect what nature offers and find the seeds.

For us it is also a time of preparing for autum and winter. Something we can’t really comprehend. 🍂 I just Try to follow nature and the animals and I have learn how to live in a new way.

There is no room to behave the same way, year round. Every season has jobs, joys and lessons. And living in the forrest means we have te learn quickely. ❤️

When you have created a safe basis, you have find out how you can move that basis with you in the training. This does not apply in new situations, training you do for fun or unnessesary training. Then, if the horse is not interested or happy you just have to stop. But with a few things, like the trailer, the halter and things horses need to be safe like going to the vet or farrier. You have to make sure to train your horse. If your horse is able to walk on the halter with you, because he trust you. That is a beautifull feeling. But it sucks, if ever something would happen to you and nobody can halter, load or take care of your horse. Imagine the stress they would have to endure!! That is why training, reinforcing and then automatisation are really important. It can safe lives!

That is why I hope more people will start to learn about training to help horses with trauma triggers. You have to create a safe basis, to reframe the triggers and create a safe and healthy environment for the horse.

There are few ways you have to adjust your training plan, when it comes to past traumatic experiences. They are not entering a new situation, but a situation with a lot of past information. They created their own ways of coping, they have an idea what is “going to happen according to past experiences, and they were feeling insafe. Part of the training is making sure the horse will start to feel safe at the little steps.

Normally the horse is in charge of the steps, but you have to learn to check… is it the horse? Or the past experience taking the lead. And then you have to help the horse feel safe again. ❤️🙏

It is so important to built a strong training plan for the horse. Meaning the steps are little and the horse can find safety.

With trauma that is formed by a great impact there are inevetable triggers. And of course you want to help the horse to reframe them, but that is only possible when you create a lot of trust and rituals. When you encounter the trigger, the body will start the fight or flight proces. And you will let the horse have this reaction. It can be a sound, a smell, a part of proces. And then you take the horse te safe place he experienced as safe. If your training has little steps it means you step from part 18 of the proces to part 17. But if you forgot to build trust in little steps, the horse wil react, you have to start over again, and the horse can not reframe the situation as safe. Instead it is even possible that the horse gets retraumatized. ❤️ little steps go the long way 🙏

To work with horses with trauma, you have to make a very different training plan. ❤️ they need to heal and recover and re-direct. Horses that are behaving like this lovely fellow, have experienced severe trauma and they go in flight, fight and surrender. This is really dangerous for themselves and the environment. With just one day, we could help him recover and let go of old pains and tension. And he was able to move to a new home, to be safe and to become happy and healthy again.

To create a bond with a horse you have to spent time doing something, and time doing nothing. And doing nothing is a perfect way to really become a peaceful herd together. Can you imagine sharing a life with someone and never res, relax, kick back?

It installs a sense of safety between you, trust and true partnership.
